Associate Data Scientist - Remote Work

​

Role: We are seeking a highly motivated  Data Scientist to join our team. As a team member, you will design, develop, and implement solutions to evaluate air traffic control systems and operations data to improve safety.  Collaborate with systems and software engineering teams to apply Machine Learning (ML) and natural language processing to analyze aviation data such as safety incidents, aircraft performance, weather, and air traffic operations.  Apply ML and investigate the use of deep learning to classify aviation safety events.  Conduct exploratory data mining, regression analyses, and time-series analyses to characterize potential factors impacting aviation safety performance and performance changes over time.  Discover and report on actionable insights from data analytics to help decision makers understand and mitigate aviation safety risks.  Assist in development of comprehensive data analysis models and visualizations.  Work with users to connect outputs from data analytics to aviation system risks given changing air traffic technologies and operations

Qualifications: 0 - 1 years of experience in technical projects

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar

  • One (1) year experience required for Bachelor’s

  • No professional experience required for Master’s degree

  • Experience in Python and SQL desired

  • Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts such as K means clustering, n-grams, and TF-IDF desired – Will provide training

  • Familiarity with natural language processing and regular expression techniques a plus

  • Understanding of statistical data analysis methods desired

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume responsibility for work product development

  • Strong communication and analytical skills to clearly document and present data analyses and findings

  • Familiarity with risk analysis is a plus

Senior Associate Engineer / Analyst - Remote Work

​

Role: We are seeking an Engineer or Computer Scientist  to provide technical project leadership for our growing team of data scientists, software developers, and engineers.  You will work remotely to define and design data analytics and custom dashboard solutions to evaluate air traffic systems and operations safety and performance.  Work with aviation safety leaders to analyze and improve air traffic safety given changing technologies and operations such as unmanned aircraft, advanced air mobility, and vertical takeoff and landing.  Translate stakeholder needs into user stories and software development tasks for our software engineering team. Develop solution concepts, user interface / user experience (UI/UX) designs, and features for data analytics and visualizations.  Define business logic and algorithms to analyze trends and factors in aviation safety incidents and system performance.  Work with data scientists to evaluate results of machine learning cluster analyses.  Plan and track agile software development sprints, and update our backlog of software development features and tasks.  Conduct software feature testing and coordinate results with software team.  Work with users to deliver and socialize system features and connect insights from data analytics to aviation system performance and safety.

Qualifications: 5+ years of experience required in software or technical projects

  • Understanding of software lifecycle and agile processes

  • Strong writing skills to accurately and clearly translate user needs into development sprints and backlog items

  • Creative thinking to define and experiment with UI/UX and functional feature designs

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage team efforts on software or data analytics projects

  • Strong communication skills with ability to adapt information to different audiences from executives to engineering teams

  • Comfortable with presenting briefings and product demos to an audience
