Associate Systems Engineer - Remote Work

Role: We are seeking a highly motivated System Engineer to join our team. Work with aviation safety stakeholders to understand  solution needs to analyze and improve air traffic safety given changing technologies and operations such as unmanned aircraft, advanced air mobility, and vertical takeoff and landing.  Collaborate with customers and software engineering teams to develop solution concepts, user stories, and designs for aviation safety data analytics, machine learning applications, and data visualization software.  As a team member, you will translate stakeholder needs into software development tasks and user interface / user experience (UI/UX) designs that provide insight into aviation safety performance trends and factors. Assist with planning agile development sprints and testing completed features. Prepare project documentation, including design decisions from agile team meetings.  Participate in all phases of the software systems engineering lifecycle. Opportunities for continued professional development, especially in machine learning and artificial intelligence tools and techniques.

Qualifications: Understanding and ability to contribute to software systems engineering lifecycle activities including development of concepts and user stories, trade-off studies, UI/UX and functional feature design, and test and evaluation of software systems. Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume responsibility for work product development and continuous delivery. Able to assist in the development of new software products and modification / migration of existing products.  Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience on technical projects, logical problem solving, or data analysis is a plus.

Education: BS and 1 year or MS degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar required.

 

Associate Data Scientist - Remote Work

 

Role: We are seeking an innovative Data Scientist to join our team. As a team member, you will design, develop, and implement solutions to evaluate air traffic control systems and operations data to improve safety. Collaborate with systems and software engineering teams to apply Machine Learning (ML) and natural language processing to analyze aviation data such as safety incidents, aircraft performance, weather, and air traffic operations.  Apply ML and investigate the use of deep learning to  classify aviation safety events.  Conduct exploratory data mining, regression analyses, and time-series analyses to characterize potential factors impacting aviation safety performance and performance changes over time.  Discover and report on actionable insights from data analytics to help decision makers understand and mitigate aviation safety risks.  Opportunities for continued education / professional development, especially in data science conferences and techniques.

 

Qualifications: Understanding and experience in logical problem solving, development and application of analytical methods, and synthesizing and interpreting data analysis results. Knowledge and experience in machine learning, feature engineering, neural networks, and natural language processing tools and techniques.  Understanding and familiarity with processing structured and unstructured data, statistical data analysis methods, and evaluation of model performance and accuracy is desired.  Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume responsibility for work product development and continuous delivery.  Able to assist in development of comprehensive data analysis models and visualizations.  Strong communication and analytical skills to clearly document and present data analyses and findings.

Education: BS and 1 year or MS degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar required.  Familiarity with risk analysis is a plus.
