Associate Systems Engineer

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated System Engineer to join our team. Work with aviation safety stakeholders to understand  solution needs to analyze and improve air traffic safety given changing technologies and operations such as unmanned aircraft, advanced air mobility, and vertical takeoff and landing.  Collaborate with customers and software engineering teams to develop solution concepts, user stories, and designs for aviation safety data analytics, machine learning applications, and data visualization software.  As a team member, you will translate stakeholder needs into software development tasks and user interface / user experience (UI/UX) designs that provide insight into aviation safety performance trends and factors. Assist with planning agile development sprints and testing completed features. Prepare project documentation, including design decisions from agile team meetings.  Participate in all phases of the software systems engineering lifecycle. Opportunities for continued professional development, especially in machine learning and artificial intelligence tools and techniques.

Qualifications

  • BS and 1 year or MS degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar required

  • Understanding and ability to contribute to software systems engineering lifecycle activities including development of concepts and user stories, trade-off studies, UI/UX and functional feature design, and test and evaluation of software systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume responsibility for work product development and continuous delivery.

  • Able to assist in the development of new software products and modification / migration of existing products.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Experience on technical projects, logical problem solving, or data analysis is a plus.
